白鳥・西村7位 男子第7戦フランス大会

7月9日にSWATCH-FIVBワールドツアー2006男子大会第7戦フランス大会の決勝が行われた。
日本からは白鳥勝浩（レオパレスビーチウインズ/湘南ベルマーレ）/西村晃一（レオパレスビーチウインズ）ペア、朝日健太郎（フリー）/渡辺聡（湘南ベルマーレ）ペアの2チームがエントリー。朝日健太郎/渡辺聡ペアは予選3回戦で敗れ最終順位は33位。
予選を順当に勝ち進んで本選に出場した白鳥勝浩/西村晃一ペアは本選でも勝ち進み、8日のブラジルLuizão/Nalbertペアとの試合ではフルセットの激戦を繰り広げるも惜敗。しかし最終順位7位という素晴らしい結果を残した。
第6戦ノルウェー大会と同じくブラジル勢同士の対戦となった決勝を制したのは強豪リカルド/エマニエル ペアだ。SWATCH-FIVBワールドツアー2006男子大会でメダルラッシュが続くリカルド/エマニエル ペアの快進撃は止まりそうにない。また、2位にAraujo/Fabioペア、3位にCunha/Francoペアが入り、前日に決勝戦が行われた女子大会と同じく、表彰台をブラジルチームが独占した。
