白鳥・西村17位 男子第8戦モントリオール大会

7月16日、SWATCH-FIVBワールドツアー2006男子大会第8戦モントリオール大会の決勝が行われた。前回と同じくブラジルのエマニュエル/リカルド ペアとFabio/Marcio Araujo ペアの対戦となった決勝でストレートで優勝をもぎ取ったのは前回と同じくエマニュエル/リカルド ペアだ。3位にはCunha/Franco ペアが入り、なんと1位から3位まで第7戦フランス大会と全く同じ顔ぶれとなった。
日本からは白鳥勝浩（レオパレスビーチウインズ/湘南ベルマーレ）/西村晃一（レオパレスビーチウインズ）ペア、朝日健太郎（フリー）/渡辺聡（湘南ベルマーレ）ペアの2チームがエントリー。
白鳥勝浩/西村晃一ペアは予選2回戦で敗れたものの、ラッキールーザー規定により本選に出場。
白鳥勝浩/西村晃一ペアは、カナダのHeese/Van Huizen ペアにはフルセットの末勝利を物にしたが、イタリアのLione/Amore ペア、Laciga M./Egger M. SUI ペアに敗れ、最終順位を17位で終えた。
