日本3チーム本選へ 女子第13戦ブラジル大会

9月25日〜27日の3日間、SWATCH-FIVBワールドツアー2006女子大会第13戦ブラジル大会の予選が行われた。予選上位8チームが本選出場権を獲得できる。
予選には、日本から浅尾美和（ケイ・ブロス）/西堀健美（ケイ・ブロス）、楠原千秋（湘南ベルマーレ）/佐伯美香（ダイキ）、浦田聖子（レオパレスビーチウィンズ）/鈴木洋美（武富士）の3チームがエントリー。
3チームとも予選1回戦はシードで進み、迎えた2回戦。楠原千秋/佐伯美香ペアはブラジルのSoares/Vieira ペア相手に安定した試合運びをして勝利をおさめ、本選出場を手に入れた。一方の浦田聖子/鈴木洋美ペアと浅尾美和/西堀健美ペアはストレート負けを喫し、予選2回戦で敗退。
しかし本選から欠員が出たため、ラッキールーザー規定により浦田聖子/鈴木洋美ペアは本選出場となった。浅尾美和/西堀健美ペアは最終順位33位で大会を終えた。
田中姿子（フリー）/小泉栄子（フリー）ペアは本選からの出場となる。
